A return to the essentials

Our historic building is located directly on Franziskanerplatz next to the Franciscan church. This neighborly place of contemplation served as inspiration for the design of Hotel Schlüssel. In our ten hotel rooms, guests can find peace and quiet to let the impressions of the city of Lucerne sink in. For the design of the rooms, designer Daniel Hunziker and artist Nina Staehli focused on the essentials: simplicity and clarity are at the heart of the overall artistic concept.

Check-in and check-out

At Hotel Schlüssel, we rely on modern technology combined with excellent service. You check in and out on your own, at any time of day or night. If you need help, the team at Restaurant Schlüssel and the team at our partner hotel Beau Séjour will be happy to assist you during regular reception hours from 8.00 a.m. to 11.00 p.m. (CET): +41 41 410 16 81.

Breakfast

Since we don't serve breakfast at Hotel Schlüssel, it's a great opportunity to check out the local coffee and croissant scene. Our hotel is located in the Kleinstadt neighborhood, a pretty part of the Old Town – right in the middle of it all! There are numerous breakfast options within walking distance of the hotel, and you can discover several of Lucerne's landmarks along the way. We've put together some café and restaurant tips for you on this page.

Parking lots

The Hotel Schlüssel is located in the historic old town of Lucerne. The hotel has no parking spaces. You can only park in front of the Hotel Schlüssel to unload your luggage. You can reserve a municipal parking permit for CHF 20 per day in advance. As soon as you have parked your car, let us know your license plate number and the type of car. We will be happy to take care of everything else for you. You can then park in any public parking lot in the city of Lucerne day and night during your hotel stay.
