The charming Hotel Schlüssel, run by Manuel Berger and Walter "Willy" Willimann, joins its hotel siblings Beau Séjour and Villa Maria in Lucerne with ten rooms. All the interiors of Hotel und Restaurant Schlüssel were enlivened by our creative family members, Nina Staehli and Daniel Hunziker. The artist and designer also designed the Beau Séjour and Villa Maria.
Nina Staehli developed the overall artistic concept for Hotel and Restaurant Schlüssel. The artist created a work cycle consisting of 24 paintings and 20 relief sculptures. The latter were inspired by two centuries-old relief sculptures found in the base wall of the ground floor. Nina made a negative of the female and male face and transferred the sculptures into an artistic context. The Schlüssel figures and minimalist paintings can be found in all rooms, on the first floor and in Borromäus Hall.
Daniel Hunziker conceived and designed the entire appearance of Hotel and Restaurant Schlüssel. As with the Beau Séjour and Villa Maria projects, the designer worked closely with the hotel operators and artist Nina Staehli. Hunziker's brief included designing the interior architecture with a lighting and color concept, as well as designing a furniture line for the hotel rooms. The Schlüssel collection consists of bedside tables, desks, wall and ceiling lamps, and wardrobe modules. Daniel and his team were also responsible for developing the corporate identity and brand, including the logo design.
Full-blooded hoteliers Manuel Berger and Walter "Willy" Willimann are delighted with their latest addition to their family: the Hotel and Restaurant Schlüssel in Lucerne's Old Town. They design, create and manage out of conviction: "What we do, we do in and with a large, strong community. Be it our biological family or a chosen family." They have captured their credo in the claim of Hotel und Restaurant Schlüssel: familia supra omnia – family above all else.
